Carter looked over at Kassar, who was doing some stretches in the middle of the barracks. As soon as the marine finished up he produced a cigarette and lit up. That was a little strange, a man whos so concerned about his physical well being and then he begins smoking on a cigarette. Carter sat down on one of the bottom bunks and responded, Yeah, its just you really cant let your guard down in these sorts of situations. I dont like being caught off guard. Rob looked over to Criss, "Think they are gonna call us?" Victor ask. Maybe, sorry I really dont know, we should be prepared incase we do get called down. About now I know about as much as whats going on as you do. Carter was on edge right now, he wanted some sort of message on the intercom either telling him to sit back and take a load off or one telling him to cock, lock and get ready to rock. Being left in the dark, not knowing what the hell was going on was nerve racking. Then again, Carter had never really been the most laid back marine, most of the stuff he did was nerve racking. Diaz slowly sulked in. "Sorry for running out like that Carter, it wasn't my place. It's just I've come pretty close with some of the guy's in first and second section over the last two day's, and I don't want to see them get killed out there. I'm sorry, I won't let it happen again. I'll do however much PT you want to make up for this, I deserve it for bein' stupid." Carters mouth started to water. He really wanted to make him do suicide runs across the training facility until he vomited, but he managed to bite his tongue. Diaz could just tell Rob to fuck off, Rob had basically no control over the marine. But Diaz had a habit of beating himself up, even if he didnt do anything wrong God Dammit Diaz, Carter muttered, as he pinched the bridge of his nose, I just want everyone in our squad to sit tight for now. I know youre worried about your buddies, but theyre big boys, Im sure they can look out for each other. And Im not going to make you do any crazy shit like do push ups over a pile of glass, and Im not going to scream at the top of my lungs. Honestly, you havent done anything bad, when I told you to stay it wasnt an order, it was my opinion. Carter gave a small smile to show that he was starting to loosen up,it quickly melted away as his expression became serious once more, "But don't think that I'm going to be all sun shine and lolly pops. If you act recklessly on a mission and endanger the rest of the squad I will not be so understanding."

His lip curled at the unprofessional way Diaz had acted, but yelling at the obviously emotionally unstable marine would probably lead to bloodshed. So he kept his mouth shut. He listened to the conversation between Diaz and Carter, and saw the look of fury in Carter's eyes. A sinister smile spread across Kassar's face, 'Yeah,' he thought, 'punish his ass.' He knew it was not within Carter's jurisdiction, but it would have been funny anyway. But Carter decided to be the kind leader mentor, Kassar scoffed, not even a fist thrown. He put on a black wife beater and spread out on a bunk with his hands behind his head, making sure that his head was towards the intercom in case he fell asleep and they were called down. --------------------------- "Prophecy is whatever one makes of it, but destiny cannot be changed."

He looked at the email he had left open to his girlfriend. He hit the send key and layed down. He had been a fuck up so far, but it wasn't going to happen again. Then he thought about something, the other marine had given him some pissy looks. Diaz let it roll off his shoulders. He layed down just looking at the ceiling. He went inside and got into an empty stall and took a long piss. He zipped up and washed his hands. 'That felt good.' he thought as he moved back into the main part of their squad bay. He went over to his locker to see what he could find. He found a good picture of his girlfriend but it was not worth taking out right now. He rummeged some more and found his fingerless black leather gloves. "Now that's the shit." He mumbled to himself. He pulled them out and put them on. He wore these things to every day of basic. He looked for some other things. There was a calling card to his partents, but he didn't want to use it. Finally he found nothing of interest so he headed back to his bunk. Carter got off of the mattress slowly, he rubbed the back of his neck, the muscle were tightened and he needed to loosen up. Rob could hear the intercom echoing off the ships bulkheads. Diaz had left off for the firing range, but Carter was certain that the marine overheard it and was on his way to the command center. Sergeant Hammers would be 3rd squads squad leader, he had seen the man several times during the last tactical simulation, and was confident that he could lead 3rd squad through hell. Carter just hoped that anyone wouldnt try to pull anything stupid in front of the sergeant. The guy seemed like a trigger puller, and not as forgiving or lenient as Rob was. Alright devil dogs, Rob said, trying to sound as collected as possible, lets move.
